The “Pawning Process” of Taking Trades?  Wendy Wortham Explains The Art of Bartering…

When clients submit a trade through my sister site We Take Trades For Wedding & Event Services- The Pawning Planners, their items are almost never ready to “flip.”  Why? Well my friend antiques and furniture or even vintage toys need to be cleaned and “show ready” in order to fetch the best price.

I’m always amazed when folks list items that are wrinkled and lying on the floor!  Who would want to buy something in such a state?  I know that I wouldn’t.  Presentation is everything and my knowledge of high end home furnishings comes in handy when I’m refurbishing an item in the highest quality of tapestry upholstery.  You see, I would never sell anything I wouldn’t buy myself.

Why do I require 4 weeks prior to the event date when taking a furniture trade?  Well my friend, I’m often busy working on other items (or listing them) as well as meeting with clients during wedding season and cannot just drop everything to refurbish your trade within days of your event.

Why do I mix fabrics?  Many of my fabrics are silk loomed and retail for up to $300 a yard.

Why are my items “expensive?”  Well my friend, if you haven’t seen it before, it’s expensive!  I do not take Walmart furniture in trade or big box items because they have no resale value and high quality, durable home furnishings aren’t cheap.  I only sell quality items that are priced far below other designers price points.  Many of my “be back” or, repeat customers are from California and New York who are happy to pay freight and packaging because they realize the value of my product line.

The furniture offered at Visit My Treasure Chest Texas Twins Treasures is durable and built to last for years.

From the banding to the welt, every aspect of any item I’ve refurbished and redesigned is carefully stain protected to ensure durability.

Why do I loan floral bouquets, and other items such as cake stands, columns and centerpieces?  Because my client base are often struggling consumers who cannot afford such luxuries.  Creating an inventory took years and a huge investment for me to overcome issues the families I’ve helped faced and by “having all the extras” I separated myself from my competition by doing something no one else would by taking trades Pawning Planners Site as well as loaning items to clients and providing low cost photography.
