More Garage Sales, Goofballs & Good Stuff With Two Sets of Twins- The Pawning Planners…

Every year we get a fairly creative request for a family liquidation.  Whether they are moving or giving up a storage unit, these folks are downsizing to save money and often have no idea where to start.  Our Mini Me twins aka The Little Pawners LOVE planning an estate liquidation mainly because they always set up a cookie and lemonade stand and greet shoppers.  These two are really good at marketing their refreshing drinks and delicious cookies and sell the drinks for 50 cents with cookies at 25 cents and this year they are planning on including brownies at 50 cents each.  They spend a lot of time on their signs and who is making change.  Maryssa and Makenna love making money and are planning on buying cameras with their earnings.

Last week the Little Pawners joined Cindy and I to an Appraisal Appointment to search for treasure in a garage full of what appeared to be trash.  Occasionally we find ourselves in the heart of a hoarder home and the three garages full of discarded items and decorations had my team a little dissapointed.  The Pawning Planners & Little Pawners At An Appraisal Appoinmtment video gives you an idea of what we do when looking for items of value.  Often, bags of trash are strewn about.

Marketing for an estate liquidation often requires finding a few really nice items to put closest to the curb.  We are experts at pricing items at reasonable prices and throwing out items that are not worthy of table space at a sale.  Often, I add items from my treasure chest at Refurbished Swaps, Flips & Trades- Texas Twins Treasures to stop traffic with my creatively refurbished items taken in trade in exchange for services at We Take Trades! Submit Yours- The Pawning Planners! Often the items I’ve taken in trade were in horrific condition at the time of the trade but my background in home furnishings gave me insight on buying trends and what shoppers really want (quality, durability and unique design).

Maryssa and Makenna are “Junkees” when we are digging through a barn, trailer or home in search of buried treasure and sometimes want to keep items rather than selling them.  Last week they found two bikes and after cruising the alley, informed my twin and I they wanted to keep them lol.  Little Pawners- Maryssa and Makenna Mahaney try out bikes found at an Appraisal Appointment video gives you an idea of the entertaining moments we spend as a team having fun with two generations of twins.

We have had so much fun with my family on our adventures in the wedding and events industry together.

My son and his wife handle photography for Texas Twins Events/The Pawning Planners and are planning on helping set up and stage the estate liquidation this weekend.

Robert and Stephanie love Pawning Planners Apparel my latest addition to the Texas Twins Brand that feature #Cindyism RedneckReality or HillbillyHumor type quotes that help fund families who cannot afford to hire us and have nothing of value to trade in exchange for services.

How We Do Things Differently to give anyone (regardless of their income) the opportunity for a Dream Event- I’m contacted frequently about why and how I make Texas Twins Events, Texas Twins Treasures and The Pawning Planners “work” by taking trades that I refurbish and sell to cover expenses and also why I loan wedding bouquets, boutenniers and other items to our clients.  Let’s face it- no one in the wedding and events industry does anything for free except me!

Why?  Well, I started Texas Twins Events after struggling to give my son and his new wife a beautiful wedding on a shoestring budget.  After recognizing that I wasn’t alone and selling our home, I decided to open a window of opportunity for families who had no idea where to start or how to afford a Dream Event. By involving my entire family and creating an inventory- I effectively “set myself apart” from my competition by “thinking outside the box.”

As we separate and group items for this weekends sale and visit the grocery store to get items for baking the cookies and making the lemonade, I guess you could say that I invested in strangers who we had never met that became friends and was lucky enough to have a family that wanted to jump in and help me “change the wedding and events industry one barter at a time from Fort Worth, Texas!”
