Travels of The Texas Twins 2015-Friends & Families-Texas Twins Events/Pawning Planners Team

It’s hard to believe that 2015 is already behind us but the past year brought new friends and adventure along with the drama and disaster weddings often bring. When the “unexpected emergency” of wedding stress arrives- we overcome any disaster as a team.

This year, I finally got my saucy sidekick to dress up for the parade in Fort Worth, Texas.  Cindy hates dressing up and she also hates my clothing suggestions- we don’t call her the GingerTwin for nothing folks!

We met many new friends along our journey and helped many families who couldn’t afford traditional price structures by taking trades through my sister site No Money? No Problem! We take trades for wedding & event services Cindy Daniel and I also had a few funny adventures trying to find “a treasure in a houseful of junk” but, we are good sports and sponsored the event anyway for a family that needed a funeral.  I often don’t write about funerals in my blogs because a few of our clients prefer to have privacy but this particular family was good natured and knew it was likely we wouldn’t find anything to salvage in Weatherford, Texas.  To overcome the issues of not “finding a flip, swap or trade,” I’ve decided to go into the Pawning Planners Apparel Business to help families who can’t afford to pay through Texas Twins Events or, to make a trade through the Pawning Planners.

By selling tshirts, coffee cups and caps- my Texas Twins Events Team can overcome the barriers many low to middle class consumers who can’t afford a Dream Event have by sponsoring them with the sales of Pawning Planners Apparel. To find out more, visit my latest website Texas Twins Treasures- Supporting Texas Twins Events Sponsored Families Isn’t an “easy” or “inexpensive” endeavor.  When families come to me with nothing (no money, no trade, no flowers, no dress, no shoes) literally- NOTHING, I have to be fairly crafty and creative in order to pull it all together and that’s where my Texas Twins Events Team are at their brightest by pitching in with my multigenerational team to give the gift that keeps on giving by donating their time and their talents to ensure beauty and lifelong memories with photos and video.

We are a multigenerational family of twins who overcome any and every obstacle to give families a Dream Event.  My twin sister, Cindy Daniel has something to say about everything and is the “comedy relief” entertainer at all of our events!  My son and his wife handle the photography and videography while my niece Stephaney Mahaney is the Spanish translator and my other niece, Leigh Ann Blais is the wedding singer.  Pulling up the rear are our Little Pawners, Maryssa and Makenna Mahaney, who work for “tips and flips” as ring bearers, flower girls, ushers and babysitters for small children in the wedding parties.  “It takes a village” is no joke when it comes to my Texas Twins Events Team because without the support of my entire family- I could never officiate the ceremony, Photograph the event or coordinate the event while still finding time to create the floral designs that we loan when families have no money to provide their own.

Floral bouquets that I’ve painstakingly created are used at 80% of our events to ensure beauty for the photos.  Thinking of anything and everything to overcome financial boundaries came to me firsthand when my son decided to marry during the real estate crash as my husband and I struggled to save our home.  I’m interviewed often as to why anyone would create a business “based on people over profit?”

My answer surprises everyone because in order to understand the plight of others you must first trudge their path by “walking a mile in their shoes.”  Going from a household income of $400k to $45-50k (my income) was a “three year hardship” as my husband struggled to find employment outside of the only industry he had ever worked within-real estate.

The only way anyone would ever understand what I’ve done and why is if they have “trudged the same path.”  My husband and I sold our home after fighting 7 years to keep it and I would use a portion of the proceeds to start a wedding and events business that specifically targets low to middle income families.

My “ever evolving” initial business endeavor shocked my family and at the time, even my twin sister.  However, shortly after my son’s wedding, Cindy’s daughter Leigh Ann decided to marry and that’s exactly “how this whole business started.” I created the floral designs and officiated the ceremony, Cindy and our husbands helped get the venue (courtesy of my Godmother Virginia Malone) ready and Karolyn Nein along with Virginia Malone helped with the cakes and decorating of the recreation room.  You see, weddings “take a village!”

After my son and my niece were married- we were effectively already “in the swing of things” with numerous others emailing and phoning as to how we could help them.  Remember (because it’s the essence of who we are) these people couldn’t find ANYONE ELSE to help them outside of Texas Twins Events and The Pawning Planners.

We are “who we are” because we understand our clients and we understand the barriers of finance.

Wendy Wortham and Cindy Daniel will continue to change the wedding and events business one family at a time from Fort Worth, Texas because I created a unique and diverse group dedicated family members who understand our clients and are just as committed as I am to giving “anyone regardless of their income” the opportunity for a Dream Event.
