Love Wins- Meet Kat and Tiffany McKay…Married By Wendy Wortham

Last July, I had been contacted on FB about a same sex marriage for this couple.  They needed several items to “pull a wedding ceremony together.”  They came to the right person, I established Texas Twins Events years ago to afford anyone a beautiful cetemony at low cost price points and later, The Pawning Planners to take trades for services that I refurbish and sell at Texas Twins Treasures.  You see, many families can’t afford photography, floral designs, boutenniers, much less a licensed Minister to officiate their ceremony but I’m “changing the wedding and events industry one family at a time from Fort Worth, Texas” with my multigenerational team of family members aka The Texas Twins Events Team.

 Interviewed by a reporter regarding being the very first LBGT couple to seek a marriage license, it would by a challenge to the Parker County Clerk who refused to grant licenses until “the Attorney General gives us more information.”  After realizing that the law was the law, this couple were finally granted a marriage license and needed help with making this wedding beautiful and memorable event- they had come to the right people.  Bringing two suv’s of flowers, centerpieces, two photographers and other decorations, my Texas Twins Crew got the party started! 

Real people with real stories come to me everyday with desires of a lovely wedding, anniversary or other religious ceremony and often, a celebration of life or family reunion.  Keeping costs low isn’t easy- we have expenses too but keeping families happy and giving them photos that will last a lifetime? That’s what a Dream Event is and as we start booking into Spring, it becomes apparent that a business based on families may sound strange but at the end of the day- it’s these families stories that make our story heard.
