365.0 Pride is our Drive Parade Supporting our Community & Civil Rights of LBGT Couples

Last night I attended a scheduled parade meeting hosted by Tina Harvey for TCGPWA.

Tina’s tireless efforts in support of her community need to be commended. Meeting her in person for the first time last night, I was amazed at her energy, her drive, and finally, her kind and gentle heart.

Saturday, October 5, 2013 the parade staging/line up begins at 9:00 AM. A parade map and line up will be posted at TCGPWA.org today or tomorrow.

Texas Twins Events is number 39 in the parade entry, and rather than being at the parade line up at 9, I will be at the courthouse steps organizing couples interested in participating in a group Unification Event at 11:00 AM just prior to the beginning of the parade.

We will have a walking group, those wearing Sunday or wedding type garments participating in the Unification Event with me are welcome to walk in our group upon signing the required release documents with TCGPWA officials.

All members of my parade entry are required to follow parade rules and guidelines set forth in the parade application.

Each parade entry must have a “monitor” myself, Ann Alexander and another elected person from my group will be monitoring our group to ensure that safety rules are followed.

When the Texas Gay Rodeo Association Color Guard Entry reaches the announcer stand, the ENTIRE parade and all spectators are asked to join in a moment of silence to honor those in our LBGT community that we have lost, those who endure bullying and those who are still unable to be out and live an authentic life. Monitors on the parade route will enter the street and hold up signs at this time. This should occur at approximately 12:08. My group is encouraged to observe this moment.

A one half block of separation must be maintained between each entry.

A port-a-potty will located at Burnett and 3rd in the stage area.
